For today

i cannot tell you how or why
the sun doesn’t burn my eyes today
it stung yesterday
and the day before

nothing has changed
no big revelations or breakthroughs

yet somehow in this moment
the other side of love
that i carry
has become a tiny bit lighter

or perhaps i am
becoming a tiny bit stronger
