i wonder a lot
if her blue eyes would have stayed blue
(sometimes newborns’ turn brown)

there is a lot to wonder about
when a baby dies —

who they would have been
what they would have done
how they would have looked
what talents they might have had
who they could have loved
and the gifts they could have given

it’s actually too much to wonder about

so i think a lot about her blue eyes
and if they would have stayed bue
