nicodemus

he wandered through the darkness
and wandered through the night
to search for what was missing
to find the light and life

and over mountains moving
and rivers running deep
he pressed into the wilderness
to worship at his feet

and i was coming just as softly
covered by clouds not knowing
but God welcomed me with arms of gladness
and His love was overflowing

so thank you for the air we breathe
the food we eat
for light and life in Jesus Christ
and for those before me who stayed true
nicodemus saw the truth
and now i do, too
