there are so many questions
and still more, unanswered
God’s word seems strange to me sometimes –
like lifting off the ground in a 747
or sinking deep
into clear water
elements all familiar,
but confusing still
other times His truth is more true
than the parts of me
that are actually known to me
the books stack high along my shelf
and i make an appointment
to get my vision checked
